Go to www.vanguard.com and watch the video on "oxycontin express". It is all about pain mgmt clinics in that area and I found it very informative. (It does not just pertain to oxycontin, but most all painkillers). Let us know what you think. HTH

oxycontin express is a joke, complete propaganda to demonize painkillers. the funny thing is that the person was not even able to get anything at any of the clinics. ended up having to go to some old lady to get some.

also, the days of out of staters coming to FLA to go to a pain clinic are over. if you happen to find one that will accept you, it will be closed soon (this is a fact) DE@ is targeting ALL clinics. Ones that will see people that are not residents of the state will be closed and all patient records seized. all the clinics that were seeing out of staters are starting to boot them so they do not get closed.

believe me or not, i do not care. just keep in mind if you do make the trip and happen to find a place that will see you, when they do get busted (and they will) your records will be in the hands of the Feds. You better have records the size of a phone book to justify calling the feds and ask for your records back.

Not to mention they are now targeting patients, not just docs and clinics. so if you do go to a shady place that is taking out of staters and are prescribed something that your records do not justify, it will be game over for the patient as well. The Feds, DE@, and IRS have all joined forces and are going after places like dogs foaming at the mouth.

so ask yourself, is it worth it?

again, call me paranoid... but i know things that most do not about what is going on down here. they are not waiting for the PMP to go into effect. They are raiding places left and right. The clinic i am at has been audited 3 times in the last year. the regulations get tougher each month and many people that used to be there have gotten the boot.

Things are changing and changing FAST.

I guess this is a good place to post this information-

Here is a link to an article published today re the closing of 3 pain clinics in Broward and Palm Beach counties. American Pain, East Coast Pain and Executive Pain clinics.

I hope RonAllen doesn't get wind of this.
His latest brilliant scheme was advising the readers of this discussion board to drive on down to Florida and get a quick hook-up with one of these "pain clinics."
He will be disappointed that his advice was off the mark.
And he was so sure, after his exhaustive research, that this plan was foolproof!

Technically you idiot, it still is. You go to a doctor for an ailment, he legally prescribes you a medication and you legally fill the prescription. Please tell me in your infinite wisdom what exactly has this person done wrong?????

Surrounded by freakin idiots!!!!!

Apparently, the problem is with the transaction between the "clinics" and the "patients."
According to the law enforcement agencies, it is not as legal as you have managed to convince yourself that it is.
Technically speaking that is.
It must be difficult for you to navigate among all the freakin idiots who have surrounded your bad advice with reality.
Have you driven down to Florida yet to take your own counsel?

This story has apparently grown legs. By any chance has anyone heard of the George twins/brothers? The name sounded familiar to me when I read the story but they only opened their pain clinics in 2008. I'm not sure if these clinics are listed anywhere on db. Their doctors are listed in the article. The Feds are also alledging the brothers have contacts with a crime family.

People might feel a lot more comfortable considering DrFriday's advice if he would actually drive down to Florida and personally engage himself in the process.
Absent that, it's just more uninformed speculation on one of the few Internet discussion boards to which he's still allowed to contribute.

i also watched the vanguard video and found it to be more of a reason not to try it.also yes google a south fla news paper and these places are dropping off pretty quick. but like most things as long as the money is there then these clinics will continue to try to operate. and i don't need the feds in my business - not worth it to me. for all who are truly in enough pain to have to use this venue. well good luck and may things work out for you.
