I have been on Zoloft 50 mg for 5 wks now and i noticed when i take the hydro with it it does not seem to be as effective I may be wrong but has anyone else on zoloft had this similier problom any thoughts would be great. thank you
I was in the same situation as you, although I think that I had been on zoloft a bit longer, and yes, it did seem to reduce the effectiveness of the HC a bit. Not too much though. I never really needed more than 1.5-2 pills for adequate relief. (before, I only needed one pill.) I've noticed Zoloft seems to reduce the effectiveness of many drugs. And watch out when you decide to go off of it. Zoloft is most certainly dependance forming. If you go off of it too quickly, without a proper tapering program, you very well may experience a whole host of horrible w/d effects. Do a search for Zoloft Withdrawl on Google... I'll never use an SSRI again, thanks to my Zoloft experience.

there are studies dating back to the early 80s which demonstrate that initially serotonergic drugs boost effective analgesia of opioids but chronic administration of serotonergic substances decrease the effectiveness of opioids
