In california - haven't ordered on line since 2005 maybe? Can't figure out how to find a online provider that will accept medical records and ship pain meds in decent turn time? Help, please?

Sorry, those days are long gone. There is no NROP left that'll take your money monthly and send you medicine. Your only bets right now are to join one of those face to face companies and hope the doctor prescribes a medicine for you (because they don't guarantee the dr will give you anything) or you can go to the BI site and spend a thousand dollars getting the same medicine you got in 2005 for $199.
