Especially if is this is from an IOP. Try explaining away that Homeland Security letter to your coworkers.

Really BAD idea!!!!!!! Consider your work place like the nosey neighbor who gets your mail by mistake & opens it "by mistake". I've never worked some where where mail isn't opened either on purpose or by mistake... it's not considered personal unless it's sealed w/ "Confidential" tape! LOL!!! Don't be that reckless!

Yeah, I've had coworkers who always had packages sent to work, and the bigger packages (boxes and such) were never opened, but all the smaller mail packages were opened and then distributed to the right departments.

I don't know how your company works. At ours only letters marked Confidential or letters to the President, VP, or Head of Marketing were left sealed. Everything sent to regular employees were opened either by the receptionist or the Head of the Secretary Group, so that they could be distributed. Mail was taken out of the envelope and then they used a paper clip to clip the envelope to the letter in case the employee needed the envelope for the return address.

Just be careful!

Why would he lose his job? That makes no sense.

Actually unless it's an official letter from the IRS or a financial institution your employer has the right to open your mail EVEN if it's marked "personal and confidential". That's the law. Sending pills to your work especially from an IOP is an easy way to get fired.

Although this is a really old thread, it's quite interesting.

I always had my meds shipped to the office I worked in. Since I worked all day, I was never home to accept delivery and pay the COD. I had no other choice.

I worked in the front office and was the employee who received and signed for all packages, thus the threat of trouble was so very small.

It worked well and I would do it again if necessary. I believe it all depends on the office you work in, your position in the company, the amount of respect you receive from other employees ... I'm sure you can see where this is going.

If you are a hated member of staff, there are probably other employees that are waiting for you to take a fall. Sending these meds to your office will only give the bad-guys a reason to "catch" you doing something wrong. Don't be the hunted one.

Being the employee who receives and signs for all the packages sure makes shipping to work more reasonable. That I could see. Otherwise I would definitely try to avoid it.

it all depends on your status at work. I wouldn't do it in a huge company.

I've had them shipped to a small business I owned, but when I worked for a large firm, all mail was opened, and I debated telling the receptionist I had something private coming USPS, nut I choose to rent a po box down the street and checked it in the afternoon... that ended up being the best way to go for me, but when you own the company (I did have a nosey partner) I just said I was having something delivered for a family member because they wouldn;t be home to sign, and I was asked not to open it, so if it comes and I'm not here please don't open it... worked like a charm lol

I really wish that OP's would be a little more discreet. Put some freaking cotton in those bottles!!! My packages rattle more than a toddler with a tin can of coins. Don't think I would give co-workers a chance to shake them.

I sometimes have mine shipped to work, but recently just started using the fedex office address and I go pick them up myself. That way I can pick them up in the morning around 9:30, instead of waiting till 2 or 3 in the afternoon at work. I couldn't care less if my coworkers know I get medication by the internet. BUT the fedex guy just told me a couple weeks ago the cops are cracking down on people who order a bunch of prescriptions in different names to the same address. and he said I would not believe how many packages like that he delivers each day. That really screws things up for people like me, who just need one medication and who are not breaking any laws.

I would never do that. I am too scared to have them shipped to my home, so they go to a mail receiving service.

Really bad idea IMO. Is it worth the risk losing of employment? Between the “rattler” packages, someone opens it and other office issues that go on, no way. Even if you know or are accepting delivered, don’t take the chance.

It’s not worth the risk in the long run.

Multiple reasons, but seems like if you got busted there you would be in a lot more trouble as your record for work if you worked there for years, you couldnt use it as a reference. But who knows. Maybe they wanna keep a stash at the place. lol I DK I never have.

Why would you even think about doing that really. No one brings you your mail at a company anyway unless your like a high class executive or something. with a lady that takes care of your stuff for you. cant think of the word at the moment, but you know what imean. An assistant.
